Lindsay was seriously injured yesterday when another rider hit her out of the start gate in the Womens' moto #2 at Lazy River. She has 2 broken bones in her back and will have surgery today in Georgia. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and those of us who are keeping in touch with her family will try to share her progress with you all.

6:30 and i just talked to Greg...Surgery went well, about 10 SS screws and 2 rods which will stay in for at least 6 mos. No nerve damage at all. L10 and L9 or 11 was damaged bad. She is hurting pretty bad but is on Morphine with the button. She is texting and talking. They tentatively plan to keep her at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton GA room 2112 until the middle of next week. Phone to the room is 1 706 217 2112. Greg and wife are there. All things considered she is mostly out of the woods. Thank god for the good medical staff at the track who did not allow her to move much, Dr. said that would have been catastrophic. ---------- 74 Zacks Dad

Also worth mentioning is the fact that the doctors said her Leatt brace prevented a much worse injury than what she had - worth the investment for sure. I agree, the EMTs at the track were great, they knew exactly where to support her back and legs to make sure she didn't move too much while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. She is so lucky to have had such good care and it sounds like she's doing well considering what happened. Everyone keep sending her good thoughts!
