Competition Accessories, an aftermarket dealer of parts and accessories for motorcycles, ATVs and other vehicles, will invest $3.3 million and expects to create 40 jobs, state commerce officials said.
Competition will locate in the SouthCroft Corporate Center next to Home Depot on Cherry Road and plans to start hiring after Labor Day. The company plans to hire in retail sales, warehouse, graphic design and telephone customer service.
“The combination of a positive business climate, available labor force and top-notch market access will allow us to grow and meet increasing demand from our customers,” Dan Conetta, general manager of Competition Accessories, said in a statement.
The company has been in business since 1959 and carries a broad range of name brands, including Arai Helmets, Shoei Helmets, Sliders Kevlar Motorcycle Clothing, Firstgear, Tourmaster and Cortech Apparel as well as Michelin, Dunlop, Continental and others. City and county leaders said the area's transportation network and business climate helped land the company.
“York County is a proven location for warehouse and logistics operations in the Charlotte region thanks in large part to the ‘Pennies for Progress' road construction and improvement program,” said Buddy Motz, York County Council chairman, in a statement.
The company's address is 3049 SouthCross Blvd., Suite 105, Rock Hill.
